Sevilla admit they are worried about Wolves ahead of Europa League crunch clash

Head Coach Julen Lopetegui of Sevilla FC looks on during the Liga match between Club Atletico de Madrid and Sevilla FC at Wanda Metropolitano on March 7, 2020 in Madrid, Spain.

Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui admits he's worried about Europa League last eight opponents Wolves.

Lopetegui said: “They are a tremendous team that has been together for a long time and after Manchester City they are a club that's spent more than anyone.

“They are all top level players who have been working with the same coach – that's why we're worried about them.

“The way they play, it's going to force us to play a great game.

"We will be taken to the limit. Because they are very powerful.

“They have proved to be a very, very solid side, so that's why we are worried about them.”

Lopetegui doesn't subscribe to the view that his five-times winners of the trophy start out as favourites.

He adds: “Both teams will have to be at their top level. It's going to be a highly competitive match.

“We are really looking forward to it but we will have to try to overcome the problems that Wolves will give us.

“Whatever we did against Roma will have no bearing on things. We have to be ready and trust ourselves.

“We will have to have the will to try and get the better of them and that won't be easy for a number of reasons.”

Lopetegui said Wolves only had themselves to blame for not clinching a European spot for themselves after losing out to Spurs by goal difference.

“It's only a few mistakes that prevented them doing that. They have a great coach and they are at a very, very high level.

“For us, now, they are the reality. If we want to beat them then we are going to have to be prepared and focussed on them forcing us to play a great game.”

He adds: “We are excited and focussed but this is a different kind of quarter-final. It's one tie against a very good side.

“It's never been like this before in the history of the tournament so we have to adapt and be ready to put in a great effort because they will force us to do that.”
