Leeds United have tabled an offer for Mainz midfielder, Jean-Paul Boetius according to German outlet Bild.
The 26-year old has attracted interest from all over Europe, with Fulham, Sevilla and Fiorentina also in the mix for Boetius’ signature.
Playing in the Bundesliga during the 19/20 campaign, Boetius hit four goals while setting-up five from 28 appearances, accumulating to a direct goal involvement every 252 minutes of football.
Overall in the Bundesliga, the one-time capped Dutchman has scored eight goals and assisted fifteen, making a direct goal involvement every 209 minutes over his two seasons in Germany’s top-flight.
Meanwhile, in his one campaign at Feyenoord (Eredivisie) he scored six goals and assisted seven, with a much better involvement rate at 129 minutes per goal or assist.
Over his time as a player in Germany; The Netherlands; Belgium; Switzerland; he’s won a total of six trophies, including two Swiss league titles, two Dutch Super Cups and a domestic trophy each at both Feyenoord and Basel.
Boetius is a dangerous and versatile attacking midfielder who carries the ball well, and has great technique when in-front of goal.
His exciting talent could be shown more-so in his direct goal involvement numbers at Leeds considering that Mainz struggled last season and didn’t play in a system that allowed the Dutchman to flourish, while The Whites set-out to play attacking football in the Premier League.
