Fabrizio Romano has become one of the more reliable names when it comes to transfers – and he has provided Leeds United fans with something to get excited about.
The Whites have had a busy weekend, adding Valencia striker Rodrigo in a club-record deal, before then signing German international defender Robin Koch from Freiburg.
Leeds are still in the market for more new signings though, and with Rangers refusing to budge on Ryan Kent’s future, Marcelo Bielsa may have found a new target.
The Telegraph report that Leeds are interested in signing Udinese playmaker Rodrigo De Paul, with Bielsa seeking to add his compatriot.
Gianluca Di Marzio has backed up those claims, reporting that talks are underway between Leeds and Udinese owner Gino Pozzo.
Romano adds that Leeds are ‘seriously interested’ in De Paul, and negotiations are ongoing over a deal worth between €30million and €35million (£27million and £31million).
De Paul, 26, notched seven goals and six assists for Udinese last season, predominantly playing as a central midfielder, but he can also play as a number 10 or out wide if needed.
The former Valencia man racked up 62 successful dribbles and 77 key passes, showing what a skilful and dangerous player he is in the final third, and his skill set and versatility could make him Pablo Hernandez’s heir.
