Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has confirmed to a Spanish radio station that Quique Setien will be sacked, with Lionel Messi reportedly ready to force through a transfer away this summer.
Barcelona were humiliated and embarrassed on Friday night as they suffered an 8-2 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich to exit the Champions League.
It was the first time Barcelona had conceded more than five goals in the Champions League since the competition was restructured in 1992.
It was also the worst defeat of Messi's illustrious career and images after the game showed how the loss was playing on his mind.
A crestfallen Messi was pictured sitting with hunched shoulders, sitting on his own in the Barcelona dressing room.
The 33-year-old Barcelona talisman had reportedly already been considering his future after a disappointing domestic campaign.
But Barcelona are ready to act fast to put this season behind them.
An emergency meeting has been called to take place today and Bartomeu confirmed to COPE on Sunday night "Setien is out".
Mauricio Pochettino, Ronald Koeman and Xavi are all being considered to take over at the Nou Camp this summer.
Former Tottenham boss Pochettino had originally been the frontrunner for the job, but it is suggested he hasn't got the full support from the Barcelona board due to his ties with Espanyol.
Koeman has since emerged as the top contender and talks have already been held with Barcelona representatives.
But Barcelona could have a bigger problem on their hands with Messi reportedly telling the club hierarchy that he wants to leave this summer.
The Argentina international has just one year left on his contract and had been expected to sign an extension.
But Esporte Interativo broke the news on Sunday night that Messi had demanded an immediate exit from the club.
He is said to feel isolated at the club's recent Champions League woes having not won the competition since 2015.
His current buyout clause sits at an eye-watering £635million.
Manchester City have been touted as a potential destination, but not even Pep Guardiola's side would be able to stump up that amount of cash.
