Manchester United announced in a statement this morning that the Portuguese has been sacked after two and half years at the club and the team sitting in sixth in the league after their worst start to a top-flight campaign since the Premier League's inception in 1992.
“Manchester United announces that managerMourinho has left the club with immediate effect. The club would like to thank Jose for his work during his time at Manchester United and to wish him success in the future," the statement read.
“A new caretaker manager will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager.”
