Udinese announced Julio Velazquez as their head coach

Udinese have announced Julio Velazquez as their new coach, the club declared this on Thursday. Velazquez returned to his country and its second division on 13 October 2016, signing with AD Alcorcón . He eventually managed to steer the team out of the relegation zone and also ousted RCD Espanyol in the fourth round of the Copa del Rey, renewing his contract a two further years after the latter achievement. On 4 June 2018 Velazquez left Alkor , after narrowly avoiding relegation.
Udinese sacked former boss Massimo Oddo in April. Igor Tudor took over as interim manager until the end of the season.
A club statement read: "Udinese make official the signing of coach Julio Velazquez Santiago with effect from July 1 to lead the first team. Tomorrow at 12.00 [local time] at the Dacia Arena there will be a press conference to present the new coach. The club thanks Igor Tudor and Mark Iuliano for their work in the final phase of the 2017-18 season and wishes them the best.
