Tottenham Hotspur are set to pay Jonny Evans release clause from West Brom

Tottenham Hotspur are set to pay the release clause for West Brom star player Jonny Evans once the  team is relegated to the Championship.

Evans signed for Premier League club West Bromwich Albion for an undisclosed fee on 29 August 2015. He made his debut for the club on 12 September 2015 in a 0–0 draw against Southampton. On 2 January 2016, Evans scored his first West Brom goal in a 2–1 victory over Stoke City. On 15 May 2016, before the final game of the season, Evans received Players'Player of the Season award of West Bromwich Albion on his primary campaign for the club.

According to report, Tottenham Hotspurs could have the Northern Ireland star for just £3 million.

The former Manchester United star has been performing well in recent seasons, despite his team are struggling in the English premier League.

Even though he is already 30 years old, a move this summer appears likely with Mauricio Pochettino making plans to replace Toby Alderweireld should the Belgian leave with a year remaining on his deal.
